A few nights ago I dreamed that I was onstage singing "Mack the Knife!" It was wonderful! I sang the entire song, and I remember during this performance, I was surprised and impressed with myself for knowing all the words!
I was wearing the cutest little khaki colored suit , very "au current," I must say. Not sure how to spell au current, but I think that's right.
Here's what my suit looked like.
Wish I had a film of ME singing "Mack the Knife," but I don't!
So, here's that famous guy himself, Bobby Darin!
So, what did you dream last night?

The Great Bobby Darin! Thanks for the song, and the dream. I didn't dream anything last night, but the night before, I dreamed I was riding a brown horse in some woods. I saw a black bear and a beautiful gray wolf. Then suddenly there appeared two un-beautiful wolves, all mangy and hungry-looking, who started nipping at my horse. I kept shooing them and warping at them with a plastic bag full of some soft material, which was the only thing I had handy. The horse wouldn't run, and the wolves kept nipping at him. When I realized that if they got the horse, they might start nipping at me, I woke up.
Hmmm. For the last month, I've kept a "tape recorder" (okay, it doesn't have tape but it does record) next to my bed, so that I could document my dreams as soon as I wake up. Most of them are just scraps - not many clear plots. In one dream, I came across a poster for a movie called Jawinger. The movie was about a tough cop (Jawinger) with a big jaw. In the poster, an actor who looked a bit like Mark-Paul Gosselaar is standing in front of a burning police station, sticking his jaw out and trying to look tough.
Joanne and JD - Thanks for sharing those intriguing (sp?) dreams! I think "the horse you rode in on" is pretty unusual. I can't remember ever dreaming about riding on a horse! And, Jed, the Jawringer movie sounds hilarious! A tough cop with a big jaw!
It's odd about my dreams, in that the ones I remember almost always involve going somewhere. Walking across a sandy desert place, or through woods in France. Driving in the dark with no lights. Running to catch a bus. Riding a horse.
I dream of driving almost every night, usually in places I recognize from previous dreams but not from everyday life.
I've had a few dreams where I was riding a motorcycle. But my most common mode of transportation in dreams is flying.
I don't often find jokes in my dreams, but I was laughing about Jawringer for days after. The best part was the look in the actor's eyes. He was clearly thinking, "Am I making a huge career mistake?"
I LOVE flying in my dreams. It's the most delightful feeling in the world. I always start out a little timid, like floating in a swimming pool without getting wet. Then I find I can sail through the air. I'm often out in my yard, and worry about what if the neighbors see me flying around!
I don't think I've ever dreamed of flying. Once I dreamed a cliff edge was crumbling under me, and I thought, I can just float up to solid ground. But I knew that was impossible in reality, so I woke up.
